The events encourage our communities to act on protecting the earth through proper recycling and helps them to retire outdated technology that leaves their organizations vulnerable. This year we were able to recycle 5,260 pounds (2.58 tons) of old servers, laptops, scanners, printers, and PCs at our Spring Cleaning events. Phase out, Check-in and Check-out?

With shared storage of documents, overwriting other author’s work has historically been a concern. Two people would open the same document and made changes to the same content and whom over saves last wins and the other work is lost….. So as good technicians we have historically fought that scenario by requiring Checkout before editing. SharePoint would do this for us as soon as a user edited the file. A lock would be placed on the file until it is closed. Brilliant! I know those were good days.   Question: With SharePoint online and the co-authoring options, is check-out and check-in a required default. I am sure there are still scenarios when you need to check out the file for [...]

And we’re not shy, so we’ll announce it too: Red Level has been officially been proclaimed one of the 2017 Cool Places To Work in Michigan by Crain’s Detroit Business. We couldn’t be more pleased. “Cool,” of course, means different things to different people. Depending on your perspective, it could mean having a “Bring your Lhasa-apso to work day,” an indoor lacrosse field, or hot and cold running Red Bull. We’re not cool in that way. But we seem to be cool enough to [...]

You’ve come a long way, baby…

In 2004, Trucker hats topped everyone's head and The Incredibles topped the box office. MySpace was all the buzz in social media and flip phones buzzed in your pocket. Snoop Dogg dropped it like it was hot and Friends wrapped up their series run. That same year, three friends decided to become entrepreneurs and start something remarkable. A lot can change in 13 years. At least one thing hasn't. Red Level is still the company to call for game-changing IT services. Thanks for taking the leap all those years ago, Dave, Ed and Rob. We're excited for what comes next. Happy 13th Birthday, Red Level!
