We’ve all got logos. They’re essential to our business, not only for branding and identification, but also to form a common bond among employees. Logos can be stuck on just about anything these days, but is every logo a good logo?
While an all-text logo certainly serves its professional purpose on company letterhead, envelopes, and presentations, this type of logo doesn’t mesh well with mobile devices and many social media websites. In addition, marketing documentation and other materials may be marked with an unreadable logo if the image is composed only of text.
It’s not a bad idea to have multiple layers of branding, as long as all the logos correspond to each other appropriately. One should be able to look at all logos in a company’s logo family and immediately know what they represent. Coordination and creativity are key.
Until next time…
