Six Novi businesses earn recognitions Toast of the Town gala set for Feb. 28 Six Novi businesses will be officially recognized Feb. 28 at the Toast of the Town gala at the Baronette Renaissance hotel. The awards, given by the Novi Chamber of Commerce, Novi Rotary and the city of Novi, were in two divisions – small (50 or less employees) and large (more than 50 employees) – with three categories in each. Renaming a SharePoint 2010/2013 Server

Have you ever found yourself in the situation where you wished you had named your SharePoint server differently? Renaming that server isn’t exactly straight forward. You can’t simply rename the machine and call it good. SharePoint contains many references to the name of your machine throughout its database, and all of these must be changed as well. Luckily, Microsoft has provided us with a handy PowerShell cmdlet called Rename-SPServer to make most of these changes. There’s more to it than just this command, however, so I’m going to go through all of the steps that I have a lot of success with. Microsoft XP End-Of-Life

Microsoft ends support for Windows XP, Office 2003 and Exchange 2003 Customers May Be at Risk! Customers running Windows XP, Office 2003 and Exchange Server 2003 will no longer receive security updates, support, or hot fixes, making their systems extremely vulnerable to malicious software and compliance issues. Support for Windows XP SP3 (Windows XP is now 13 years old!) and Office 2003 ended on April 8th, 2014. After support ends, there will be no new security updates, non-security hotfixes, free or paid assisted support options or online technical content updates. Continuing to run Windows XP SP3 in your environment after April 8th, 2014 exposes your company to potential security risks, as unsupported and unpatched environments are vulnerable to security threats.
