Red Level has been chosen to receive the Michigan Works! Impact Award. The company was nominated for the honor by the Oakland County Michigan Works! Chapter in recognition of its success in forming strategic partnerships to upskill and expand the local workforce to meet industry needs better.
Michigan Works! is a 30-year-old organization dedicated to providing services and support to Michigan’s workforce development system, the first united organization of its kind in the United States. The annual Impact Awards are bestowed upon companies who have demonstrated a commitment to create jobs and develop talent within their communities.
This year’s Impact Awards presented at a ceremony at the Anderson House office building in Lansing on February 21, at which an invited list of business and government leaders gathered to honor the recipients. Award recipients were able to share their individual success stories with the assembled executives and elected officials.
“Naturally, we are tremendously honored to be selected to receive an Impact Award; it’s a particularly prestigious honor for a company such as ours,” says Dave King, Red Level’s CEO. “This award is a concrete demonstration of the fact that our work is having a beneficial effect not only on our company but the broader community and the regional economy. As a business which was formed expressly to deliver valuable and vital services to other companies, helping to propel their successes, that’s exactly the effect we want to have.”
Red Level’s impressive track record of sustained double-digit growth for nearly a decade has naturally translated into the steady growth of its skilled, highly educated workforce. Red Level’s receipt of a 2017 Michigan Skilled Trades Training Fund grant from the State of Michigan empowered the company to broadly expand professional development opportunities for its team members, enabling more than a dozen employees to receive advanced specialized training within their disciplines. The company expects to continue its growth, adding additional staff to meet growing client demand and the need for new, highly specialized services. It also expects to provide additional training opportunities, helping employees to remain abreast of emerging technologies and new products.
“Red Level has always been conscious of the fact that by helping our employees to learn and succeed, we help our company and clients to succeed as well,” King explains. “The most valuable assets we can offer to our clients and our community are our knowledge and expertise. When we can hire more skilled, talented people and then provide the tools for them to build their skills even further, that results in a ripple effect that ultimately benefits everyone.”
